A Tipper is a specialized drumstick used to strike the Bodhran. Tippers are hand turned from various hardwoods and customized for superfluous weight and balance response. Most are approximately 8-9” and vary slightly in shape. In general, tippers are reflective of the different regional styles of playing in Ireland, and usually dictate how the stick is held and the style in which the Bodhran is played. The Aaron Plunkett signature series are of the County Kerry style.
